Their history dates back centuries ago...invaders, settlers, battles, and fights have come and gone in each country... Bulgaria and Romania are characterized by a unique culture influenced by the Eastern Orthodox Church. A lot of interesting places can be seen in Romania, among of which the famous castle of Dracula.

Program
Day 1st: Sofia – Arrival at Sofia Airport – Sightseeing tour
Meet and greet at the airport by the representative of MIEL and the Guide. Transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation. If the time allows – sightseeing tour of the city /by bus and by foot – 3 hours/. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.
Day 2nd: Sofia – Rila Monastery – Plovdiv
After breakfast - transfer to Rila Monastery /the biggest monastery in Bulgaria and part of the UNESCO world heritage list/. Visit the monastery and the museum. Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to Plovdiv via Borovets – a winter resort in Rila Mountain.
Accommodation in a hotel in Plovdiv /second biggest city in Bulgaria with over 3000 years history/. They will have a sightseeing tour of the city including the Old Town, Roman Amphitheatre, and other highlights. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.
Day 3rd: Plovdiv – Kazanlak – Roza Damascena – Kazanlak
After breakfast – transfer to the city of Kazanlak – the center of the Valley of roses. The city is also in the so-called Valley of the Thracian Kings – this is the region with numerous Thracian burial tombs. The guests will visit the Thracian tomb in Kazanlak – listed in the UNESCO world heritage list. Accommodation in the hotel.
Transfer to the complex “Roza Damascena” – the guests will have the possibility to learn about the production of the rose oil /attar of roses/. Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the city. Dinner in a traditional restaurant with a live folklore show. Overnight
Day 4th: Kazanlak – Etara – Veliko Tarnovo
After breakfast – transfer to Veliko Tarnovo. En-route visit the open-air ethnographical museum “Etara” (Entrance fees included). Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to Veliko Tarnovo. Accommodation in the hotel. Sightseeing tour of the city with visit of the medieval fortress “Tsarevets”. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.
Day 5th: Veliko Tarnovo – Russe – Bucharest /crossing the border – Danube River
After breakfast – transfer to Ruse – The guests will cross the border through Danube Bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu Romania. They will be met by the Romanian guide and will continue to Bucharest. Half-Day Sightseeing Tour of Bucharest including a visit to the Parliament Palace and the Village Museum.
The guide will show you the most interesting sites of the city and will offer social, cultural and historical information about Bucharest and Romania. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.
Option: Lunch in a local restaurant
Day 6th: Bucharest – Snagov – Mogosoaia – Bucharest
Breakfast at the hotel. Around 10:00 departure to Snagov and visit the monastery on the lake. The Snagov Monastery is mainly known for its connection with the story of Vlad the Impaler, sometimes associated with count Dracula. The next stop will be Mogosoaia Palace – a beautiful Romanian Renaissance building surrounded by beautiful gardens.
On the way back to Bucharest you can stop and have lunch in a very nice restaurant located on the top of an 18-level building located in the north of Bucharest. The panorama view is magnificent. After lunch, you will go and visit Cotroceni Palace – the former residence of King Carol I and the actual residence of the Romanian President. Return to the hotel and free afternoon. Overnight.

Day 7: Bucharest – Sinaia – Brasov – Bucharest
Breakfast at the hotel. Around 08:00 departure to Sinaia – a beautiful mountain resort. Visit Sinaia Monastery and Peles Royal Castle – the former summer of the Romanian Royal Family. Then you go to Bran and visit Bran Castle – also known as Dracula’s Castle. On your way back to Bucharest there will be a stop for a walking tour in downtown Brasov – one of the most beautiful cities in Transylvania. Return to Bucharest around 20:00 h. Overnight at your hotel in Bucharest.
Option: Lunch / Dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 8: Bucharest – departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
