Package Itinerary

Certainly, you have heard about the Bulgarian Rose, because our country is famous for rose oil production providing 85% of the world's rose oil, mainly used for perfume essences but for other purposes as well. You are welcome to join our Festival of the Rose and be part of the process of rose picking which takes place yearly end of May, and the beginning of June.

The Valley of Roses is situated in the Thracian Valley also called the Valley of Thracian Kings. This is the place where more than 1,500 tombs of Thracian aristocrats were found and where you can feel the ancient civilization dating from the 4th century B.C

Remark: The package price is valid for a group of a minimum of 10 pax

Preliminary Program:

Day 1: Sofia

Arrive at Sofia Airport and transfer to the hotel for accommodation. Free time to relax. Overnight in Sofia.

Option: Welcome dinner

Day 2: Sofia – Koprivshtica - Kazanlak - Stara Zagora

After breakfast transfer to the small revival town of Koprivshtitsa and experience the first, touch with Bulgarian traditional architecture from the Revival period. Submerge into the narrow coble-stoned streets and enjoy the colorful painted old houses. Continue to Kazanlak – the Rose capital of Bulgaria and the center of the Valley of Thracian Kings with several tombs dating 3rd – 4th century BC, including a UNESCO-listed one that we are going to visit.

Participation in the opening of the Festival of Roses 2016. Late evening - Transfer Hotel accommodation and overnight in the city of Stara Zagora.

Options: Lunch / Dinner in local restaurants with homemade Bulgarian cuisine.

Day 3: Stara Zagora / Kazanlak (Valley of Roses) - Stara Zagora

After breakfast, the guests will be transferred to the city of Kazanlak. Here the guests will take part in the ritual “rose picking” and will be on the square to enjoy the carnival procession and other celebrations. Visit a local Rose distillery and enjoy a city tour of Stara Zagora (a city with 8,000 years of history). Overnight.

Options: Lunch / Dinner.

Day 4: Stara Zagora – Plovdiv

After breakfast transfer to the ancient city of Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture 2019. There are many remains preserved from Antiquity, which guests will see during the old city tour. The region is known for the wine production of a unique Bulgarian grape variety Mavrud. Accommodation and overnight in Plovdiv.

Options: Wine tasting / Lunch / Dinner.

Day 5: Plovdiv - Sofia

After breakfast transfer back to Sofia. Hotel accommodation. Sightseeing tour of Sofia. The guests will visit the main highlights of the central part of the city. The Bulgarian capital dates even before the 7th century BC, when Thracians established their city around a mineral spring, which exists to the present day. Overnight.

Options:

- Visit of National History Museum (Golden Thracian Treasures) and Boyana church (UNESCO)/

- Lunch in a local restaurant/

- Farewell dinner in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant with a live folklore show and Dances on hot charcoals.

Day 6: Sofia – Departure

Breakfast. Transfer to Sofia Airport for the departure flight. End of the services.
