Istanbul – Plovdiv – Sofia - Veliko Tarnovo / Ruse / Bucharest / Sinaia - Brasov /

In these three Balkan countries, situated at a crossroads of civilizations on the Balkan peninsula one can find not only plenty of ancient monuments and artifacts but also beautiful nature and typical Balkan hospitality of the locals. Their history dates back centuries ago...invaders, settlers, battles, and fights have come and gone in each country... Bulgaria and Romania are characterized by a unique culture influenced by the Eastern Orthodox Church. And Turkey – rich history from the Medieval ages, Byzantine and Ottoman Empire.

A lot of interesting places can be seen in Romania, among of which the famous castle of Dracula. Taste the delicious food and wine of these people. Explore the ancient archaeological and historical objects. Discover the unique culture of these three countries and the hospitality of their people.

The package includes the following services:

Airport pick-up and drop-off;

Accommodation with daily buffet breakfast for 12 nights as per the above program in 3+ or 4-star hotels;

Transport by A/C coach;

Entrance fees to museums, monasteries, and sites are included in the program.

Program

Day 1st: Istanbul – arrival

The guests landed at Istanbul International Airport. The guests will meet their guide and tour leader, transfer, and accommodation. Overnight.

Option: Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2nd: Istanbul – Sightseeing tour

After breakfast starts the sightseeing tour of Istanbul - a great city situated on two continents, capital of two empires. The sightseeing tour by foot and by transport will reveal the archaeological and historical objects of the Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire. Churches and mosques, palaces towers, and fortress walls are of interest to the visitors. The guests will visit interesting museums. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 3rd: Istanbul - Cruise and Shopping

Breakfast and the day will start with a boat cruise on Bosporus. About 2 hours cruise along the banks of the channel that divide the 2 continents – Europe and Asia. The guests will see fortresses, palaces, and bridges. In the afternoon the guests will have time for shopping. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 4th: Istanbul – Plovdiv (Sightseeing Tour)

After breakfast transfer to Plovdiv. Accommodation in the hotel in Plovdiv /second biggest city in Bulgaria with over 3000 years history/. The guests will have a sightseeing tour of the city including the Old Town. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 5th: Plovdiv – sightseeing tour

After breakfast, the guests will continue with the visiting of the highlights of Plovdiv (Ethnographic museum, Roman amphitheater, Roman Stadium). Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Option: Wine tasting.

Day 6th: Plovdiv - Sofia

After breakfast transfer to Sofia. The guests will be accommodated in the hotel and will have a sightseeing tour of Sofia. Parliament, Cathedral Saint Aleksander Nevski, Saint Sofia church, Russian church, National Theatre, Presidency, Roman remains Market hall, Vitosha Boulevard. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 7th: Sofia – Shopping and Relaxing

After breakfast, the guests will visit the National Historical Museum, Boyana church (UNESCO world heritage list). The afternoon is devoted to the individual exploring of the capital city and shopping for souvenirs. Overnight.

Option: Lunch in a local restaurant.

Option: Dinner in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant with a live folklore show.

Day 7th: Sofia – Veliko Tarnovo

After breakfast, the guests will be transferred to Veliko Tarnovo – the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Accommodation in the hotel and sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the medieval fortress “Tsarevets” surrounded by huge fortress walls. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 8th: Veliko Tarnovo – Ruse – Bucharest

After breakfast, the guests will be transferred via Rising and crossing the Danube river to Bucharest. Stop in Ruse for a short tour in the center of the city. Continue to Bucharest. Accommodation in the hotel. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 9th: Bucharest – Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, the guest will have a sightseeing tour of the capital city of Romania. They will visit the Parliament – one of the biggest buildings in the world. They will visit also the Patriarch Cathedral, Village Museum, Roman Athenaeum, and Triumphal Arch. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 10th: Bucharest – Sinaia

After breakfast – transfer to the winter resort Sinaia. The guests will be accommodated in the hotel and will visit Peles Castle – the favorite place of the Romanian queen Maria. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 11th: Sinaia – Bran – Brasov

After breakfast – transfer to the town of Bran. The guests will visit Bran Castle (the so-called Dracula Castle). Then the guests will visit the nearby city of Brasov (Townhall, Black Church). Return to Bucharest. Overnight.

Option: Dinner / lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 12th: Bucharest – Shopping

The day is for relaxation and individual exploring of the city. Overnight.

Option: Lunch in a local restaurant.

Option: Dinner in a traditional Romanian restaurant with live music.

Day 13th: Bucharest – Departure

After breakfast – transfer to the International Airport for the departure flight.
